Creation About the Author

To you, my sweet, I am forever grateful
For many new-found beauties in my life.
You blithely turn the present into rapture
And make the future promise sheerest joy.
Even my bitter past you have redeemed,
Bestowing on it new significance.
It is the end that counts and gives to all
That went before its full and final meaning,
Transforming the defeats, humiliations,
Dead-end sorties, insane infatuations,
To merest incidents in my long search,
Or lessons fraught with wisdom for the heart,
Or stepping stones to our great victory
Of happy love and lasting comradeship.
